50th Reunion Magic

Thanks to Tom Stafford and the entire Reunion Committee for a wonderful 50th Reunion!  Dianne and I truly enjoyed every event and having the chance to talk with so many of you and your spouses.  My only regret is that I'm sure there are some people I missed and too many I didn't have a chance to talk with longer.

On Friday afternoon, I drove Dianne around River showing her the house on Parkview Avenue I grew up in and some of the old haunts both North and South of the tracks.  After that and after talking with many of you, she had a very interesting reaction.  Several times she told me how lucky I was to have had the experience that I had growing up in Rocky River and going to RRHS.  Her high school experience was quite different and, frankly, not as happy.  From the comments many of you made, I'm sure most of us now realize this and look back on those days with much fondness and sadness that things have changed so much.  Having had this reminder, perhaps we can do what we can to bring a little bit of that magic back to our own communities.

I actually do have another regret.  That is that I failed to keep on touch with all of you as college, law school and career absorbed my days and took me to places beyond Ohio.  It is my loss, not yours.  Hopefully, through Gordon's website and direct communication I can remedy that error going forward.  Certainly, if any of you are passing by us on I-81, or just want to visit the Shenandoah Valley, please let us know.  We've got room and we'd love to see you again and show you around.
